The course material was developed by Dr. Thomas Hertel with contributions from Dr. Terrie Walmsley, Dr. Mustafa
Acar, Dr. Jeff Reimer, and Dr. Tsung-Cheng Lee. Some course lectures and advanced topics have been derived from
presentations and papers authored by other contributors, who
actively use the GTAP Data Bases and Models.
Dr. Acar is Professor of economics, teaching at Kirikkale University, Turkey. Serving as the instructor of the WebCourse, he is in charge of evaluating the weekly homework assignments and answering the questions raised by the participants regarding the course material.
Meghan Alexander is the Program Manager for the Center for Global Trade Analysis at Purdue University. She handles all logistics and planning for this course.
Ginger Batta is the course Webmaster and primary contact in the event you encounter any problems with the website. Please feel free to request assistance from her at any time.
Professor Hertel is the course developer. This material has evolved over the last decade from a course covering a variety of applied GE frameworks to a unified course using the GTAP/GEMPACK suite of software. This permits users to get much further during the semester, undertaking significant course projects for presentation in the final week of classes.
Terrie Walmsley is a Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Center for Global Trade Analysis at Purdue University. After completing her PhD at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, she joined GTAP as a post-doctoral research fellow. Following the post-doc Terrie then spent three years as a lecturer at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, where she taught International Trade and Economics.
